Implant Supported Dentures
Find Support With Dental Implants
Are you struggling to live a healthy and happy life due to numerous missing teeth or loose dentures? Without proper and comfortable tooth function and a complete smile, it’s nearly impossible to eat a healthy diet or be active and social. Natural teeth play a large role in your oral health and function. When you bite and chew foods, they provide stimulation to the jawbone, so it remains dense and strong. As teeth are lost, this bone begins to shrink away, and over time will become thin and weak and even lead to an aged appearance. The only way to mitigate this bone loss is through a bone grafting procedure and by providing new, healthy jawbone stimulation with dental implants. Our team at Sapphire Family Dentistry is here to help you regain a healthy and confident life with implant supported dentures in Richmond, TX. Unlike traditional dentures that rely on suction and unreliable denture adhesives for support, implant supported, or implant retained dentures are secured to dental implants permanently placed in the jawbone. Combining years of surgical experience and training with the latest dental technologies, we have what it takes to restore your smile and quality of life with a secure alternative to conventional dentures.

The Dental Implant Treatment Process
Your treatment begins with a personalized consultation with our dentist in Richmond, TX. Here, you’ll thoroughly discuss your current limitations and receive information on your options for full mouth tooth replacements. Most patients already qualify for implant supported dentures however if they don’t, they can typically receive one or more treatments to become one. We’ll take x-rays and impressions of your mouth to begin surgical planning and the creation of your new denture. In a separate appointment, you’ll receive your dental implant placement. Using a minimally invasive and predictable approach with sedation dentistry ensures your treatment is comfortable and pain-free. Dental implants are placed in areas of your jawbone that have the most density and volume, usually in the front portion of your jaw. Depending on your unique case, your denture will be secured to these implants with either a ball or bar attachment and can be removable for cleaning or permanently attached. Once your surgery is complete, you’ll need three or more months to heal and for the implants to integrate securely with your bone. During your healing phase, you’ll typically receive a temporary denture to wear until your final denture is complete. In many cases, we’re able to repurpose your existing denture to secure it to your new implants.
Benefiting From A Stable Smile
Implant supported dentures, or implant retained dentures, combine the strength of dental implants with the aesthetics of modern removable dentures. With two or more dental implants secured permanently in your jawbone, your dentures will have the support needed for a secure and strong bite. You won’t have to worry about your dentures becoming loose or falling out, and you won’t need to use denture adhesives again either! Unlike traditional dentures that rest on the gums and can accelerate bone loss, dentures secured with dental implants stimulate healthy jawbone growth by transferring biting pressure from your gums to the implant posts. You’ll look and feel more confident too, as you regain your oral and overall health with teeth strong enough to bite and chew a healthy variety of foods. Overall, you’ll experience a renewed sense of well-being and a boost in your quality of life!
How Much Do Implant Supported Dentures Cost?
Implant supported dentures cost more upfront, but will save you both time and money in the long term. Traditional dentures require relines and adjustments to remain secure. Beyond the cost of these treatments, returning for these new appliances can require the hassle of multiple appointments. Implant supported dentures not only last years longer, they will also improve your diet and overall health as well, leading to a decrease in systemic effects later on. At Sapphire Family Dentistry we partner with multiple insurance companies and third-party financing to help make this lasting health investment as affordable as possible. The final cost depends on a few factors including your insurance coverage and the number of implants you receive. However, we’ll do everything possible to make this truly life-changing care an affordable reality for you!
